Building a brand on social media is important if you own a small business. You may hate social media or threaten to go on a 30 day strike, but that is not going to help you build a brand. As much as you hate it or love it, it’s great for business. This is how we connect with people and connect people with our brand. Your brand is how the rest of the world sees you.
I am a photographer and know for a fact that great images sell. Good quality images are going to grab your followers attention and then your followers just might read what you wrote underneath that image. There is no way around this one. Your images are going to say a lot about your brand. They will come across as professional. My BEST images gets the most likes and comments.
Connect with your Audience
If you can’t connect with your audience then you probably will not get any feedback. Staying active on social media is a way to connect with people. If they only see you post once a month, they will stop following you. You always need fresh new content, be consistent with posting and post relatable content. Engage with your followers when they comment on a post. This is important for building relationships.
Know Your Audience
Chances are your audience is people just like you. You want post things that interest them so they keep coming back. If you are a photographer for example, post things about how you created a particular image. People want to know more about you and what you do. Your brand needs an overall theme. Don’t post about something random that doesn’t make sense to your brand. Post things that add value to your feed.
Stand out from others, don’t do what everyone else is doing. Do your own thing and create your own brand. Who wants to see that same thing over and over? You want to think outside the box and put your own spin on things. That is after you figure out exactly what your brand looks like and represents. Find it, go with it and kill it.
