Let’s welcome 2020!
We are so excited to start the new year off with ways to start living a simple lifestyle. We have big dreams for The Simple Lifestyle Blog this year. Our mission is to inspire and help women find more joy in a simple lifestyle. Sharing our tips, advice, things we learned and love from household products to traveling on a budget.
We are so excited to start this journey with you and I hope you follow along.
We want to create a series of 10 blog posts with steps on How to Live a Simple Lifestyle. I believe it will be a great way to introduce and set the mood for our blog this year. We are all about SIMPLICITY.
Do you ever find yourself stressed out and feeling like your at a dead end? I felt the same way a few years ago. I was tired, over weight and felt like I was failing at life. It wasn’t until one night we had a tornado warning that changed my perspective. Sitting there in a closet with my family, crying and not knowing what would happen next. We had damage to our home and cars, but our family was safe. It made me realize that life is too short. Life needs more of the happy moments and less moments crying in the closet. I am here to share my experiences and hope that you too can find happiness as I did.
Before diving into our list of steps to take to live a simple lifestyle, I want you to think about what it means to YOU. What do you consider a “simple” lifestyle? What does a stress free life look like to you? It can be different for everyone.
For example, maybe that means less trips to the grocery store and more time with my family. How can I make that happen? How can I do more of what I love and less of what I don’t?
You first need to prioritize what is important to you.
Let me say that again, FIRST you need to PRIORITIZE what is IMPORTANT to you. Okay, so make a list of things that holds value. Do you want to eat organic? Invest in natural products for your family? Pay off debt? Start a savings account? Go on more family vacations? Live closer to nature? Then number them in order from first priority to last.
Your list will be your MAP or GUIDE to your new year and give you direction on where you need to go. So when you are faced with a decision, look back at your list and ask yourself if buying that car or making that investment is the right step.
Spending more time with my family is always MY number one priority. So when I decided to start this blog, I had dreams of blogging about all our family travels. Those things work together to achieve one goal. Let’s call this a collaboration. Investing in a new stay at home business so I can spend more time at home. Those things all work together on my MAP to where I want to be.
Let’s say I have a list of things to do. What’s more important? Investing in all natural products or buying that new rug to go in my master bathroom? Make sure you are asking yourself what is more important. I don’t really “need” that rug, I can live without it. Investing in all natural products to protect my family’s health is way more important to me.
We all have the opportunity to live how we want. If you are not happy with your life, then you should make a change. It didn’t happen over night. It took me a whole year just to get to one step, then another year to get to the second step. Just hang in there and keep pressing forward.
