Before we moved into our new home my teen daughter said she wanted a new room. So we started planning and talking about what she wanted. I put together an inspiration board and got to work!

Day we moved in…

The room she wanted had wall paper on it that needed to go. It was bubbling and super easy to take down. It peeled off just like skin from a sun burn, very satisfying. I would put it back up just to peel it back off. It was that much fun taking it down.

We kept her bed we just purchased 2 years ago from Wayfair. She picked out new bedding and a few things to put on the walls and around her room. The new ottoman/night stand. She already had a desk I bought off a FB group for $100 but it needed to be painted and restained.

I decided to paint it Annie Sloan Amsterdam Green and sand and restain the top to go with her new room. I love the results!

She also needed a new dresser. Her old dresser didn’t work well. My husband’s dad had an antique dresser that worked great just needed to be repainted and new hardware.

She wanted a white dresser with long pulls.

I painted the dresser with Annie Sloan Pure White, added long gold drawer pulls and added drawer liners to match.

Then we decided to go a step further and add a shiplap accent wall which was the perfect touch!

Rock that Vintage installed the shiplap. Check them out if you are local to the East Valley. This is the third project they have done for us and they are amazing at what they do!!

My son and I painted the shiplap with swiss coffee paint from Dunn Edwards. (same color as my drop zone in the entry)

I think it turned out to be beautiful!! Perfect for a 16 year old girl’s room.
